Pray for the Nations
“He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.” Isaiah 2:4 The United Nations was founded in 1945 after WW II, to settle disputes and allow for open dialogue between nations. This verse from Isaiah seems to encompass the intent of that worthy organization. Sadly, however, God was not invited to be on the board. And as history has shown us, and the numerous wars that have ensued since, have proven, there can be no lasting peace, unless it has God at the center. Until that day, and it is coming, it is our duty to pray for the nations and their governments, and in this volatile Presidential election year, especially our own.
