Ambassadors

The apostle Paul called himself God’s ambassador, what did he mean by that? Well, in  dictionary terms it’s a diplomatic official of the highest rank, sent by one sovereign or state to another as its resident representative, or an authorized messenger or representative. I like that.  Though we may never represent the USA, as an official diplomat, every time we set foot on foreign soil we are, in effect, ambassadors.  I know that when we travel, people are always asking us questions about life, politics, the economy etc. in America. We love, and are proud of our country, mostly,  so to share our experiences is a joy and a privilege. So then, as Christians, we, along with Paul, are authorized representatives of our Father’s sovereign state.  Did you realize that?

Even if you never leave your hometown, it is your awesome job to share with those living on “foreign soil” the wonders and benefits of citizenship in His country.  Paul was often persecuted, and under house arrest, but it didn’t stop him from enthusiastically elaborating on the good news. “And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God's mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike. I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God's ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.” Ephesians 6:20.

So, what’s stopping you?  Chains, fear, lack of wisdom, blah, blah, blah?  Get over it, you are an Ambassador, be proud of your citizenship, and represent it with joy!!!  “So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family.” Ephesians 2:19.
