No Apologies

Have you ever heard anyone call themselves an apologist?  The word apology jumps out at you right away, so you might think it’s an individual who is constantly apologizing for some action.  In truth, it comes from a 16th century French word meaning to make a defense.  To be more precise: A person who makes a defense in speech or writing of a belief, idea, etc. In religious terms, it is an individual who supports/defends what he/she believes, and backs it up with facts. Are you aware that God calls us all to be apologists? If you are proud of something, in this case, Jesus, you gladly share this gift with people filling them in on what they don’t know, have false information on, or doubt about him. I suppose many of you feel that you will never be put in a position where you must defend your beliefs .  Don‘t be so sure.  Daily, non-Christians watch our reactions when we are faced with choices that may compromise our values.  Some involve non-verbal reactions ,  but many will require us to explain ourselves in light of Christ.  Are you prepared? Do you love him enough to defend him, not make excuses or apologies for your faith?  God needs us to be APOLOGISTS, not apologizers. Your day is coming. It has become far too common to see Christianity mocked and vilified by the media, TV and the press. How will you react?  The apostle Paul knew, when he shared his stand with us, by saying;  “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…” Romans 1:16.  Power up, and be ready to defend!!
